We hope that everyone in the community had a happy, healthy, and safe Holiday Season and New Year!

Road Closure

Smith Ave. between Old Pimlico Rd. and the City Line, ADC Map 26-D-11, will be closed nightly between the hours of 8pm until 6am until April 30th.

Recycle – It’s good for the neighborhood

Baltimore County has a fantastic recycling program available to residents.  Please visit

http://www.baltimorecountymd.gov/Agencies/publicworks/recycling/collectschinfo.html

for a full recycling schedule for our neighborhood.

Walking Reminder

Please remember that if you are walking at night around the neighborhood to please wear reflective clothing/items to help drivers identify you in the road, especially since we do not have sidewalks.

We have received several emails regarding drivers who had near misses because they were not able to see the person walking in the street.

Security Report

We are continuing our annual Security Association membership drive for the coming season.  Despite additional costs in labor and especially gasoline there is a decrease in security dues this season.   In addition the board of directors has voted to waive the $35.00 Improvement Association dues for any resident that joins the Security Association.  Dues for the following year are as follows:

Security Dues for the period November 1, 2007 to October 31, 2008:

Paid Annually:                    $326.25 full year **pro-rated

Paid Quarterly*:             $111.00 per quarter** payable 1/15/08, 4/15/08, and 7/15/08

*Please note a small fee was added to semi-annual and quarterly dues to offset the additional expenses incurred.  Must supply email address.

** Please note that pro-rated pricing only applies to new members of the Security Association.

Our Security Association was started about 13 years ago in response to a rash of crimes, particularly during nighttime hours.  Cars were being broken into and stolen, garages and homes were also targets, and some residents had been followed home from shopping centers and accosted.  There was even a murder.

Why should you join:

  • Protection: 14 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
  • Escort service provided to follow you in your vehicle when arriving home at night, and from your vehicle to your home when needed.
  • While on vacation, if instructed, Security will walk the full perimeter of your home.
  • Notification of important alerts in the community (only available if we have your email address).
  • Free membership in the Improvement Association this year.

Force One has done a fantastic job over the years in helping to keep our neighborhood safe.  For a summary of what incidents have occurred during the past 12 months please see the reverse side. Their service can only be continued if enough members join the Security Association.  If we do not have enough participants, the security will be discontinued.  Remember by participating you are not only protecting your property and your family but you are also helping to maintain a safe upscale neighborhood.

Thank you to everyone who has already joined for the 2007 – 2008 year!
